About this design
Snowflakes are seasonal classics, and a snowflake graphghan is a Christmas-blanket staple. The six-armed shape has built-in symmetry, so a mistake on one arm is easy to spot, and easy to fix, by comparing it with the others.
The arms are thin, so this chart has more short runs than most: expect frequent colour changes along each branch and long white runs between them. Carry the blue loosely behind the work so the fabric stays flat.
Ice blue on white is soft and wintry. For more contrast, swap the white for navy or forest green.
Good for
- Christmas throw
- Winter cushion cover
- Festive table runner

Questions about this design
How many stitches is the Snowflake chart?
45 by 45 squares, 2025 stitches in total. Worked in single crochet it comes out at about 25 by 23 cm (10 by 9 in).
What yarn do I need for the Snowflake chart?
2 colours in DK-weight yarn. Open the full chart and Bobble estimates the metres and balls for each colour.
Can I make the Snowflake chart in corner-to-corner (C2C)?
Yes. It is a colour grid, so it works either row by row or on the diagonal. Make Mode takes you through it in Single crochet (SC), and the grid is the same whichever you choose.
