About this design
The Mountain Sunset is the most scene-like of the Bobble templates: a large orange sun sinking behind a ridge of forest-green peaks, above a solid green ground. The place to be careful is where the peaks cut across the sun; keep those colour changes tight or the ridge line goes fuzzy.
It suits a sofa throw or a square wall hanging. Use a worsted-weight wool blend for warmth, or a cotton DK if you want a lighter drape.
Open it in Bobble to swap the palette: autumn oranges and browns, or alpine blues and whites, both work with the same shape.
Good for
- Sofa throw
- Wall hanging
- Cabin or cottage decor

Questions about this design

45 by 45 squares, 2025 stitches in total. Worked in corner-to-corner it comes out at about 113 by 113 cm (44 by 44 in).
What yarn do I need for the Mountain Sunset chart?
3 colours in DK-weight yarn. Open the full chart and Bobble estimates the metres and balls for each colour.
Can I make the Mountain Sunset chart in single crochet?
Yes. It is a colour grid, so it works either row by row or on the diagonal. Make Mode takes you through it in Corner-to-corner (C2C), and the grid is the same whichever you choose.
