Corner-to-corner (C2C) is a deceptively quick method, you build the blanket diagonally with three-treble blocks, which means it grows fast and the colour changes happen at predictable points. The Simple Star is a good "second C2C project", bigger and more recognisable than the typical "first C2C" rectangle.
Two colours keeps it tidy. Navy and gold give a Christmas / festive feel; swap in pastels for a nursery, or red and white for a Texas / Lone Star State flag-style piece.
If you've never done C2C before, read our chart guide first, the row direction alternates, which trips most people up on their first attempt. After three or four rows it clicks.
